Interesting to see how Marussia's CEO makes his declarations true. Let's remember the Virgin branding on Manor structure is supposed to be from 2010 to 2012, and it would perfectly match Fomenko's attempt to bring Marussia in F1, with a sort of Marussia replacing Virgin in Manor branding. Plus, he will have a proven structure, and it could be better so as not to be ridiculous.

Aleshin's test is great. Same behavior as Petrov, not the most talkative guy, but great drive! Saw him a couple of times at World Series by Renault this year, and it's such a chance for him to win the championship, and secure his new "sponsors" such as Gazprombank or Cordiant.

Fast drivers don't have time to talk!!! :D

The Funniest news of the week may be this: Waxed Alonso drives faster!

Alonso can't lose the race of Sunday, or can he? He is officially protected by the European largest Antivirus firm Kaspersky Lab. Kaspersky Lab will be one of the main sponsors of the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro team in 2011 and 2012. It's red or nothing for Alonso in Abu Dhabi.

I think Nikolai Fomenko has a solid reasons to be committed in F1, he count on something. I know that research in aerodynamics is on highest level in Russia and there is some unique materials.. He said about 2-3 years to be competitive. I'm not so optimistic, but I know it is possible to be no.1 using all the potential. The question is in strategy and level of interest. It will be interesting to watch for the progress of Marusja Virgin.

It's really funnily :) But maybe the reason is that with waxed legs there is not so hot in the car for him? :)

I don't like Kaspersky, Dr.WEB is better, but green :) Now we are awaiting news about Renault team name and sponsors for 2011.

You are right. The design and aerodynamics of Marussia cars is the evidence of that. All the best to Marussia Virgin team. I agree with you that it's very interesting to see what kind of solutions there will be. I would not be very surprised to see this new team becoming very competitive quicker than most of us first thought. F1 is an excellent forum for companies to get trained and achieve extreme solutions. For car industry and motorsport it's the number one forum.

And the man of the race of Abu Dhabi is Vitaly Petrov. He is leading both polls...
"The famous last 40 laps" is the most discussed topic of F1.

Petrov himself: "It was a normal race"...

Nice questionnairy with Vitaly Petrov:
http://www.autosport...rt.php/id/88300

The F1 season is long, really long! Perhaps the long season, the huge fight and the outcome of the last race is best described with the words of Luca di Montezemolo, President Of Ferrari, who summed it all up:
"It still hurts.. it's the law of sports"

After the spectacular end of the race for Malaysian Grand Prix, Vitaly Petrov in China will use the R31 chassis with the Australian Grand Prix.
Renault driver, Malaysia GP finished three laps before the finish of the race, after the number 8 on the turn too wide left and went off track. Although the Russians did not lose control of the car, the R31 has been knocked out in the air on the large inequality, when he tried to get back on track.
The impact was so strong that it damaged the steering column and as it turned out well after the race chassis. In China, Petrov received chassis numbered # 1, while those used in Malaysia will return to the factory and if it was possible to be used only in Turkey.

Robert Kubica left hospital in Pietra Ligure in Liguria, Italy, where he stayed from February 6, when he had landed there after the accident on the route of a car rally - was informed about this in medical communication, issued on Saturday evening in this establishment.
"Robert Kubica is no longer in the hospital of Santa Corona in Pietra Ligure. His condition is good and the driver will be able to start a new phase of rehabilitation outside the hospital - medical bulletin says.
Information about Kubica's departure from the hospital is surprising, as it recently said that the Pole will be able to leave the hospital until May. :D

Q&A @ Barcelona

Q: Vitaly, you achieved eighth position in Istanbul and scored four more valuable points for the team…
Vitaly Petrov: Firstly, it is of course very important that we both finished the race - if you achieve that, you will have a lot more data and information on tyres and other technical aspects. It was also good that we both finished reasonably well and took some good points for the team. On the other hand, I was a little disappointed about the incident with Michael (Schumacher) because that cost me some time and points.

Q: You are currently seventh in the drivers’ championship standings with equal points to Nick - how much does this team competition help?
VP: It’s good. We are both fighting for the points, which can only be good for the team because it helps bring our performance up a level. It’s very important to get as many points as we can for the team and to fight for the constructors’ championship. Mercedes are now quite strong and taking some points, so we must stay focused and work even harder to try and stay ahead of them. We’ll now look to the next race and both of us drivers will be trying to get the maximum number of points we possibly can.

Q: You tested at the Circuit de Catalunya before the season started - do you enjoy driving at this track?
VP: I’ve been at this track many times before, and I have a lot of experience of racing here in GP2 and F3000 when I won some podiums. I’ve also driven here in Formula One, and of course the testing earlier this year. However, the weather then (during testing) was quite cold so the preparation this time around will be different. It’s going to be an interesting weekend because everyone knows this track quite well, so it will be a close fight and the lap time gaps will be quite small.

Q: We’ve had four races this season already - how far can Renault go in Barcelona and throughout the rest of the season?
VP: F1 never stays the same, it is always changing. Things change on a daily basis, with teams building new parts and working on new aspects. In Turkey, Red Bull were quickest, but before that McLaren won and of course we’ve been third quickest in two races already this season so things never stay still. It is impossible to predict what will happen throughout the season because anything is possible. We’ll be bringing new parts each weekend to try and improve the car further; we will take it race by race and stay focused.

Well, at least now he does great job in Barcelona
