Did the Renault team favor Vitaly today and gave him the better car?

No, he is on old R30-02 chassis since Korea, Robert is on latest 05-th since Singapore. But in Hungary Vitaly was on 04-th, Robert on 03-rd. It is only floor version, but I think the front/rear wings is the same on both cars.

That was the drive of the century from Vitaly Petrov. Sebastian Vettel should thank Vitaly Petrov and shake hands with Vitaly! Vitaly made not a single mistake during the race. Alonso made too many mistakes and would not be able to pass Vitaly what ever he tried!

Really Awesome race!!

This is the first race of the season with Pirelli tyres. Tyres are in the main role during this F1 season. The Pirelli tyres could favor Vitaly. I believe we will see many crashes and the outcome of the race is hard to predict.

That was an awesome race! Well done!

YES! What a Fantastic race, indeed. Could the season start better??? It was the second magnificent race in a row for Vitaly!(Last year's last race demonstrated the strenght of Vitaly)

If there were any suspicious minds who doubted Vitaly's performance, there are hardly any such minds left!!!
He is now among the best F1-drivers at the moment. The road to the F1-championship is opened. From now on all roads leads to the Championship. :P

Let's see how well the Lotus Renault team can help Vitaly and keep on working well with the car! It's hard to beat the Red Bull cars this year. But who knows, perhaps the Renault engineers can tune up Lotus motors better than those of the rival Red Bull. (Just a small wish B) )

I thought Vitaly could become third if Mercedes GP cars do crash. Luckily enough, Vitaly's car was not part in any accidents. Next race will be already on 10th of April in Sepang. Unfortunately I can't see that. I will try to figure out whether it's possible to download and install the mobile phone application to follow the race on the phone.

Good luck to the next race of Sepang to all of you! This year will be very tough for all of us Vitaly and F1-fans. Truly exciting season!

Boullier has an appetite for further success (from http://www.formula1.pl/).

Eric Boullier, head LRGP, after a great show, Vitaly Petrov in the first race of the season in 2011, believes his team is able to regularly repeat the result of a Russian from the first race.

Vitaly Petrov in the first race of the season surprised everyone by high form from the start of Friday practice, while touted as the leader of the team before the season, replacing Robert Kubica Nick Heidfeld had a tough start to the season.

"I'm starting to believe that we will be able to repeat this result," said Boullier. "In Malaysia we have the amendment in the car."

Renault boss asked about whether it considers that the amendments prepared by the team in Malaysia, one of the most demanding races of the season, will help drivers to beat Ferrari team, said: "I do not think we are so far to no longer be the better ..."

Boullier also revealed that the implementation of the innovative concept of exhalation, which is considered a major factor in the form of the car as high as R31, persuaded him technical director, James Allison.

"James convinced me. At one point we had to decide whether to stick to a conservative approach and choose a new concept. "

"I do not want to assign the merits, because the office was me and James. After talking with him, I said that I will support him. He was convinced, and I also. It was a mutual decision. "

As demonstrated by today's qualifications, LR has a chance to fight for 3rd place Ferrari. Mercedes is already far behind. Congratulations for a place in top ten.

The Race of Sepang is going to begin soon!!! The sun is rising early in the East. Well do we see some rain and sunshine almost at the same time in stormy Sepang. If the weather rapidly changes we will see very exciting race for sure.

The results from the qualifying of Sepang circuit: (eight fastest guys)

1) Sebastian Vettel
2) Lewis Hamilton
3) Mark Webber
4) Jenson Button
5) Fernando Alonso
6) Nick Heidfeld
7) Felipe Massa
8) Vitaly Petrov Lotus Renault

Again a very good position for Vitaly to start hunting the top position.

The starting grid of today's race in China:

First row: Vettel / Button
Second row: Hamilton / Rosberg
Third row: Alonso / Massa

Fourth row: Alguersuari/ di Resta
Fifth row : Buemi / Petrov

Vettel took the pole position in Shanghai as he did in the last year's qualification.

Vitaly is the number TEN. Hope this number is bringing luck to him. During the last race Vitaly was a little bit unlucky. Number Ten becomes easily number One. Just reversing the letters. 10 => 01
Thumps Up for Vitaly! It's time to drive fast!

I hope for the right upgrades, because LR car (323Kph) + more downforce = RB car (317Kph). But not for the Turkish GP. Looks like current speedy setup is very suitable for Turkish track.

I read somewhere else

On the US Speed broadcast, at the starting grid, an American was interviewing Petrov. Petrov took a second or two to put on a cooling vest/bib. He apologized because he had to stop the interview for 2 seconds. The American announcers and fans were shocked at how polite Petrov was.

Always nice to read. =)

Hi and thanks for the update. Well, to learn Chinese can be very hard. I was too optimistic and wished so much Vitaly winning the race already in China. Reversing the numbers is not the real thing.

Let's hope for a better position and see what will happen in Istanbul, in the town of James Bond. That is where the famous Bond movie "From Russia With Love was filmed". Sadly enough, it's also time to say Goodbye to Istanbul. According to the plans this is the last race of F1 in Istanbul,Turkey. But as we know there are so many problems in many F1-countries,(Japan,UAE,..) that perhaps Istanbul will return sooner we think.

This time the weather forecasters are telling that during the race the weather would be half-cloudy. That would be perfect for almost any team. I was hoping to see very hot race in the very hot weather and on the hot track of Turkey.

Vitaly managed to drive very well during the second Practice. (P2)
http://www.formula1..../2011/850/6840/

7th position in the bad weather condition was excellent achievement by Vitaly.
Hope he can keep this position during the qualifying race and (all)thumps up for Vitaly for the first position in the final race of Sunday!! I am dead sure, Vitaly will win one race during this season.

Too bad, I missed the whole Spanish Grand Prix Weekend.

For me the Barcelona F1-race is more European than the one
in Valencia: the Great Grand Prix of Spain in Valencia.
However, the Valencia GP is named as the Telofonica European GP.( or better Telefonica Grand Prix of Europe)

In my opinion Barcelona is more international(European) town than Valencia and Valencia more
Spanish. Dwellers of Barcelona may disagree. Your opinion matters...

Valencia is an unbelievable beautiful Spanish town. Valencia
GP(European GP) is a must for every F1-fanatic. Good Food close to the warm Mediterranean Sea.
Fantastic place for F1-race. Unfortunately, it's planned that there will be no
more races in Valencia after 2014. Thus all of you who love this great sports of F1, please visit
soon in Valencia GP to experience the great feeling of the true Spain and F1.

Now back to the last race of Barcelona:

Unfortunately, Vitaly did not score any points in Barcelona. The eleventh position
gives no points. The winner takes 25 points. Sebastian Vettel
demonstrated again his skills as the greatest F1-driver at the moment. And the Renault engine of Red Bull
its true horse powers. That is the winning combination at the moment.
The Renault engine is not only the fastest but the most
reliable. All credits to the Renault engineers for a such beauty!

It's worth mentioning that the six time winner of Barcelona race, the Champ of
All time, Michael Schumacher beat his German team mate Nico Rosberg for the first time*. Naturally
the heat is raising while these two team mates compete against each other.
As we saw during the qualifying race now in Monaco, Rosberg made a mistake and as a result of
this the car went off into the barriers.

Der KÖnig s Back! And Nico Rosberg is feeling the pressure as the König is making strong comeback.
Schumi is known the be the coolest guy of F1 even under the extreme pressure.

Today's race:
The legendary Monaco Street Circuit is known to be pretty dangerous. The tunnel part of the circuit
looks very dark. It must be an amazing moment to come out of the tunnel into the intensive Mediterranean
sunshine. From darkness into the lightness at the speed of 300 kilometers per hour. It sounds crazy. Very fast
in the tunnel and then almost at the walking speed around the corners. It's a huge contrast of speed.

The streets of Monaco are very narrow too. Just a minor mistake by a driver and the car is out of the game.
There is no time to watch the sunbathing beauties on the yachts.

Vettel took the pole in Monaco. The weather will be good and the starting grid looks like this

1. Vettel ( First Row)
2. Button
3. Webber
4. Alonso
5. Schumacher
6. Massa
7. Rosberg
8. Maldonado
9. Hamilton
10. Perez
11. Vitaly Petrov
